Ideas for an AlgoViz.org Logo

Basically, we are looking to design a logo, an emblem, a brand for AlgoViz.org.
There has been some prior discussion of this amongst those aware of this site while it was in the planning and development stages. I don’t remember the few ideas that sprang forth, so could someone else who keeps better track of their email post them here for reference?

At the Steering Committee meeting at VT in August, we came up with a number of ideas. Here are some rough sketches.
The underlying theme is that we wanted to create a simple static logo with perhaps one or two primary design elements. This logo probably wouldn't say "Algorithm Visualization", as in the first sketch. We thought about it just saying "AV", but there are way too many logos out there that do this already. (Google Image Search "AV logo").
The committee informally decided that the sinusoid in the second image is the best so far. It would ideally have the AlgoViz sinusoid contained within a solid-color circle. Any designers out there? What do you think?

For what it's worth, we've since decided on the logo you see in the top right.
