Description

The classic video showing "moving bars" to demonstrate the workings of several sorting algorithms and their relative performance. It was first shown at SIGGRAPH’81 in Dallas, TX. In the links above, the second one runs at 12 times normal speed.

Evaluation

This video is generally credited as the first Algorithm Visualization. While it might seem dated now, and it suffers from the lack of control that comes from being a video, it is still considered widely relevant. It is probably still the most widely used AV.
