Review:

Highly interactive software visualization (HISV): load code, manipulate in GUI for mapping to animation, run. Motivation: user must understand the mapping between code and animation, “best if specified by users themselves''. Process for specification observed: 1. Highlight block of code and assign abstract event name; 2. Rewrite algorithm in terms of events from previous step (similar to pseudo code!); 3. association graphical events with each abstract event. Chosen abstract events may differ between users - some take some things “for granted'' or find it less relevant.
